After a virtual event in 2020, the Dan Gibbons Foundation is welcoming participants back to the streets of Elmhurst for the 38th Annual Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot. Registration for participation in the 2021 virtual version of this event closed October 31.

Fun Facts
- United States Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient Dick Weber, a 3rd generation lifelong resident of Elmhurst will be serving as this year's honorary starter.
- Nearly $3.9 million dollars has been donated by the Dan Gibbons Foundation.
- Funds raised have provided nearly 4 million meals over the years.
- Dan Gibbons used his car's odometer to lay out the first course in 1984.
- The first-ever sponsor of the Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot was the Elmhurst Police Benevolent Association.

Beyond the Trot
In 2018, the Dan Gibbons Foundation also hosted its first Café Liberty class, a culinary training program for veterans and their families. Applications are being accepted while the program is closed due to the pandemic.
The foundation also raises funds with the The Fighting Hunger Games event. This “longest day of golf event” involves 36 golf warriors who each play 100 holes of golf in one day.
